The recovery of cargo from the Civil War-era SS Republic yielded thousands of bottles in a diverse assortment of medicinal, ink, food and alcohol products. These finds provide a window into daily life during the mid- 19thcentury. Although most survived the wreck intact, many were brought to the surface damaged after almost 140 years on the ocean floor.
These small pieces of history recovered from the Republic have been tastefully wrapped in both sterling silver and gold plated sterling silver to create stunning pendants. Each one is unique and varies in size and shape depending on the authentic glass shard the artist chose for the center.
