Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc. Added to Russell 3000® and Russell Global® Indexes

Tampa, FL – June 27, 2011 – Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc. (NasdaqCM: OMEX), a pioneer in the field of deep-ocean exploration, announced today that it has been added to the Russell 3000® and Russell Global® Indexes initially posted by Russell Investments on June 10, 2011, on www.russell.com. These changes went into effect after the close of trading on Friday, June 24, 2011, and will remain in place for the ensuing 12-month period. All Russell indexes are subindexes of the Global Index.

“The addition of Odyssey Marine Exploration to the Russell 3000® and Russell Global® Indexes will expand awareness of our company among institutional investors as we continue to execute our growth strategy,” said Greg Stemm, CEO of Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc.

The Russell 3000 Index measures the performance of the largest 3,000 U.S. companies representing approximately 98% of the investable U.S. equity market. It is constructed to provide a comprehensive, unbiased, and stable barometer of the broad market and is completely reconstituted annually to ensure new and growing equities are reflected.

The Russell Global Index measures the performance of the global equity market based on all investable equity securities, and includes approximately 10,000 securities in 48 countries and covers 98% of the investable global market. All securities in the Russell Global Index are classified according to size, region, country, and sector, as a result the Index can be segmented into more than 300 distinct benchmarks. The Russell Global Index is constructed to provide a comprehensive and unbiased barometer for the global segment.
