Transponders

Five transponders on the deck of the Odyssey Explorer will be placed around the wreck site of the SS Republic. Their signals allow the Odyssey crew to pinpoint the x, y and z position of every artifact recovered from the shipwreck site. The yellow metal cages are "fourplexes", essential to the artifact recovery system.
