Gold Bars

Gold was the most coveted product in the new World. Native Americans enslaved by the Spanish in Central and South America mined the gold, melted it, and cast it into bars for easy shipment back to Spain. The "Tortugas" excavation yielded 27 gold bars, ranging from 20 to 22 karats.
