Whiteware Bowls

The archaeological excavation of the "Blue China" shipwreck site produced four different types of undecorated whiteware vessels including these bowls with flared sides. Whiteware is a heavy, thick-bodied utiltarian ceramic that the British first started exporting to America in the 1840s. These wares were likely among the ship's cargo as they were recovered with the bulk of the ceramics at the bow end of the site.
