Slip-decorated Earthenware Bowls
Second in quantity of ceramics found at the "Blue China" shipwreck site are the British made slip-decorated earthenware, also known as dipped wares. First produced by Staffordshire potters in the late eighteenth century, dipped wares such as these bowls, enjoyed a long period of popularity and were at the time, the least expensive imported decorated earthenwares available in North America.
