Job Description: Manager Corporate Communications
Position Title: The Manager of Corporate Communications will manage corporate communications activities for Odyssey Marine Exploration including investor relations, public relations, and domestic and international press relations across all business units. The Corporate Communications group is part of the Communications Department.
The Communications Department handles external communications efforts for the company including Corporate Communications, Marketing Communications and Content Development. The group is responsible for implementing and enforcing the Odyssey communications and branding policies.
The Manager Position reports to the Vice President, Communications and supports the team on various projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Corporate External Affairs support for corporate executives and cross-functional business units including Legal, International Relations and Business Development.
- Develop and manage high-profile external communications campaigns for corporate priorities
- Investor Relations duties to include communication with shareholders, proper information dissemination as required by SEC regulations
- Manage, oversee and/or execute multiple communications campaigns, including development of press strategy.
- Write and edit corporate, financial and product press releases, kits and other support materials, and manage the flow of this information to press and public
- Maintain relationships with key consumer, business and trade press in the United States and International
- Respond to domestic and international media inquiries by phone or in writing
- Arrange press interviews with appropriate corporate personnel as necessary
- Provide media training to corporate personnel as necessary
- Tracking and analysis of press coverage and research reports
- Distribution and formatting of news releases and press materials via traditional and new media outlets/opportunities
- Press lists and database development and maintenance
- Press logistics for corporate events
- Draft executive personnel announcements and bios
- Maintain editorial calendar, which includes upcoming special reports in key trade and business publications
- Manage up keep of boilerplates, FAQs, corporate and project overviews and executive bios on website and in other forms
- Management of Corporate Communications staff
- Assist Marketing Communications and Content Development staff as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements::
- Bachelors degree in Communications, PR or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of prior work experience in a manager-level Corporate Communications position with oversight and primary responsibility for corporate communications, media relations, and investor relations for a publicly traded company.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with publicly traded companies and compliance with SEC disclosure requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with national and international press building existing relationships with key members of the international and domestic media

- Superb written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to cultivate and sustain strong relationships with members of the media and with coworkers.

Shipboard Position:
Job Description: ROV Mechanical Technician
Position Summary: The Mechanical Technician (MT) is responsible for maintaining and operating ship mounted deck equipment and sub sea systems related to search and salvage projects as well as the fabrication of components from raw materials. The MT position reports to the Shift Supervisor and the Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The MT responsible for the following:
- Repair, maintenance and operation of the Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and its Launch/Recovery System.
- Repair, maintenance and operation of Diesel Generator sets.
- Repair, maintenance and operation of the ROV umbilical cable handling system (storage reel/winch and hydraulic power unit).
- Repair, maintenance of the ROV hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Perform in all positions of ROV operations (Pilot, Co-pilot)
- Maintain the mechanical spares shipboard inventory.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipboard mechanical shop.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving electrical and manually operated hand tools.
- Manufacture wire rope and chain rigging using raw materials provided.
Credentials, Experience & Certifications:
The Mechanical Technician must meet the following criteria:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Certificate of training in Hydro-mechanical Systems or verifiable equivalent experience.
- 2 Years of offshore experience in related areas as described above.
- Capability to interpret hydraulic schematic diagrams and troubleshoot hydraulic systems related to ROV and support equipment as described above.
- Must provide verifiable references as to experience and past employment as a MT.
- Experience as a welder and the ability to read fabrication drawings for product assembly is desirable, but not required.

- Frequent foreign and domestic travel.
- Must be able to work offshore for extended periods.

Shipboard Position:
Job Description: ROV Electronics Technician
Position Summary: The Electronic Technician (ET) is responsible for maintaining and repairing all electronic, optical and electrical subsystems related to shipboard Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and sonar search systems. The ET will also perform in all positions as an operator of the equipment. The ET position reports to the Shift Supervisor and the Project Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The ET is responsible for the following:
- Repair, maintenance and operation of all associated electrical and electronic systems for deck equipment related to search and salvage operations including:
- Process controller electronics
- Electro/optical interface (terminations) and slip rings
- Electrical Motors
- Electrical (Diesel Powered) Generator Sets
- Repair, maintenance and operations of all electrical, optical, and electronic subsystems aboard Remotely Operated Vehicles including:
- Sonar
- Video Cameras
- Manipulator Control Systems
- Electrical Motors
- Command and Control computer and computer interface electronics
- Signal and control interface electronics.
- Underwater Lights
- Fiber Optic interface
- System Operator of all deck equipment and ROV/Search sonar systems in all positions (Pilot, co-pilot)
Credentials. Experience & Certificates:
- 2 years experience working as a ROV technician
- Associates Degree in Electronics or Certificate of Training from a recognized institution (Military, Technical School). Additional, verifiable work experience may be used in place of certification or degree.
